Nitrous Oxide (N2O) Environmental Impact
N2O released into the environment is a significant climate concern due to its potent greenhouse gas properties. Some of the key climate-related issues associated with N2O emissions include:
High Global Warming Potential (GWP):
N2O is a highly potent greenhouse gas, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) 273 times greater than Carbon Dioxide (CO2) over a 100-year timeframe. Even small amounts of N2O contribute significantly to global warming, making it a key target for climate change mitigation efforts.Long Atmospheric Lifetime:
N2O has a long atmospheric lifetime, persisting in the atmosphere for around 114 years on average. This means that it continues to contribute to climate change for many decades after being emitted.Ozone Depletion:
In addition to its greenhouse effect, N2O also contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer. When it reaches the stratosphere, N2O is broken down by ultraviolet radiation, releasing nitrogen oxides (NOx) that catalyze the destruction of ozone molecules. This process worsens the thinning of the ozone layer, which protects life on Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Our Systems
Mobile
The Mobile Destruction Unit is constructed to meet the mobile needs of healthcare professionals.
Central
The Central Destruction Unit is a system designed to manage N2O from multiple treatment rooms.
Recycling
The Recycling Decomposition Unit ensure safe decomposition of N2O in bottles that end up at recycling stations.
Detection
The Nitrous Oxide Detector is used to monitor N2O exposure in the work environment.
